What do the boys upstairs do...

I'll tell you...
nothing.

They probably have cosy jobs and large houses by the week and as a bit of fun on Saturday, they bring their uninvited friends, who do not pay to get into Gigg lane to watch Bury. They pop upstairs to watch the scores on ceefax, and chat about real business i.e their 9-5 jobs. Do they put their hand in their pockets, money where their mouth is no.

They are all bulls***ters. The list in the program of fancy names with egos reads as a sad bunch.

GORDY FOR CHAIRMAN WITH OUR SUPPORT!!!!!

Get a grip. You need people to run any club. Like everyone at BFC put your head over the edge it'll be shot off.
None of your arguements are substantiaited by any evidence.

Who has suggested this? All I hear is “until a multimillionaire can be found, we need to count the few pennies there are” – or words to that effect of course.

The only bull****ter is now playing for todays opposition. I saw the team he has constructed over the past 4 years lost 3-1 today.

Its a shame confidence isn’t available in bottles.

Anyhow, you sound very bitter and rather ****ed off (as we all do). Its usually best to think before typing, people work hard, for nothing. Words such as these are hurtful. Nuff said I think.

Yeah maybe I am fed up with the way the club is run at the moment, today was one of the darkest days in my 31 years as BFC fan. I'm gutted maybe words hurt but something needs to spark this club. I'm sorry if I upset anyone, I know we all love this club. preeece was trerribly treated though, and if that is how the club treat staff, then do you think they care about you or the real fans?

I don’t really think Preece was treated badly, if his contract had been terminated just before Christmas.... id agree with you.

The board are fans, sacking them - as some people were calling for - is just daft as there isn’t anybody to replace them.

From what ive seen, (a little, but enough) everyone on the board care about the club. And, I also don’t really think this is the correct forum to question that issue.

£2000 weekly wage for 4/5 years is nearly half a million pounds.

Preece was badly treated? I don't think so !!!!

People say he was loyal, but for those wages, he was loyal only to himself.

That shambles of a performance on Friday (and many recent performances) are a testimony to Preece's four years of "loyal" service as a manager. Garbage.

The board were right to sack him. I only wish Barrow could go to, seeing that he is reportedly only working on a weekly contract. presumably we just don't have the money to pay another manager. Simple as that.
It's all very sad, but the directors have my commiserations for the situation they find themselves in. They have all really inherited this can of worms - not caused it.

"Give miney" ????? Is that Inspector Clouseau ?

This is no time for immature vitriol and recrimination.

It is very tiresome having to correct the likes of Buzz and antrobo15 particularly when they are quite capable of determining the facts before they start stamping their feet and shouting looking for someone to blame. Buzz and antrobo, we are all fed up, but sounding off at the very people who are trying their best to make things better doesn't help.

All the current directors play an active role in the running of the Club at no cost to the Club. I do not know what monies they personally contribute to the cause and would not ask them. However, I am aware of the following:

FACT: One Club director is undertaking a full time Chief Executive role at the Club - at no cost. This would normally attract a salary of circa £50k per year.

FACT: Two Directors paid a minimum of £500 each to purchase tables at the last fundraising dinner at the Midland Hotel. An event that will hopefully raise over £30k.

FACT: One director placed a bid of over £2000 for an auction item at the same fund raising event.

FACT: If it were not for the generosity of one of the current board, Bury FC would probably not have started this season.

FACT: To take a seat on the board every director must hold at least 1000 shares in the Club (£1000). The Forever Bury nominated director purchased these shares himself and did call on Forever Bury funds.

These are only a few examples that I am aware of and as I said previously it would not be proper to enquire further, particularly considering the time and effort we get from these individuals at no cost to the Club.

I will finish by suggesting you look elsewhere should you wish to find someone to blame for the Club's current plight. Like all these things you will find all is not black and white, but possibly one candidate may be someone who is curently being paid two salaries, a large chunk of which I guess Buzz and antrobo15 helped finance.

Before somebody picks up my typing error the following paragraph should have read:

FACT: To take a seat on the board every director must hold at least 1000 shares in the Club (£1000). The Forever Bury nominated director purchased these shares himself and did NOT call on Forever Bury funds.

Sorry about that.

Well said.

Too many people seem to think that a seat on the board at Bury means champagne and caviar at half time and a chance to laugh at the oiks who pay for it while the club slides.

In fact it's probably the hardest job any of these experienced businessman have ever encountered. And they do it for nothing. I suspect one or more are putting money into the club to prop it up but why would you want to make that public when all that means is you then become a target for fans who want you to dig deeper to bankroll their dreams.

Football directors used to get lots of perks - probably still do - but there can't be many perks being a director of BFC unless of course you like abuse and stress!

Not saying I agree with them - can't comment too much as I'm not privy to their decisions anyway - can't knock them for not putting in many millions of pounds - they probably don't have it to chuck away - but they are putting in time and effort - which if for free is to the benefit of the club. TR used to get paid!

So lets not have a go but ask them for some feed back - it is the fact that no one is saying anything fuels all this speculation.
