The first half wasn't that bad for the 3rd Division. I thought Dunfield and o'Neil showed deft interplay and the defense held fairly strong
The second half wasn't as good and it was frustrating watching most clearances fall straight to the opposition. I've seen Bury play much worse than this PLUS its 3 more points. However, which comedian has been voting Greg Strong as the best loan signing by Preece on the web site - Strong himself (although he'd probably fluff the chance to vote). |

Just shows how we all see things differently.I thought we were very poor in the first half, and at half time they looked the most likely winners.
Ther second half we played better, without ever playing well.We had a good 10 minutes just around the time of the goal, but overall,as has been previously stated,I thought the performance was poor.(But we won,and just about deservedly so.) Northampton were disappointing. They showed some neat stuff in the first half, but hardly threatened at all in the second. Dunfield was just my MOM,Shaunny not missed one bit. They say good things come in threes.1.England won. 2. Bury won. 3. I met Amy after the game.!!!!!!!!!! |

I can't believe I am saying this but I too agree with what Scales said!
Slight improvement in the second half and we took our goal at a point in the game when we were slightly on top. Scrappy game overall, but came out with the points.

Just all count yourself lucky that you have the regular opportunity to go to Gigg without having to treat it as a major expedition. I'd love to be able to recapture my youth and be at Gigg several times a month but now with practicalities I see more away games than home. You should all realise how privileged you are to live within easy travelling distance of the immortal shrine .

Dunfield was my man of the match as well.
He ran all over the show yesterday and anything creative seemed to come through him. He was making more positive passes than he has done in previous matches and was back to the form he showed against York at home and the earlier part of last season. Thought Seddon played well though, his ball control is excellent, and was disapointed that he was taken off rather than O'Neill or Porter although there was only a few minutes to go. Still don`t think we have seen the best of him yet though. |

Actually i agree with Buryboy and is refelcted in my match mark on Y3K. Although he didnt have a 'bad' game he got more moans from me than any other player. My dad and Phil however thought he played well but agreed that he gave the ball away and got caught on the ball more times than anybody else. I agree about people having different opinions depending where they sat, plenty of people gave Dunfield a mouthful near me. MAN ON! and TO A WHITE SHIRT PLEASE TERRY! were common ones! I must state that doesnt include me! I save my abuse for the linesmen!
He seems to find it difficult to turn and hoofed the ball three times at the end in the mad panic. In his defence though, i expected a worse performance considering he'd got of the plane at 7:00am. I thought Duxbury was our star man and Seddons control alone terrified Northampton (if only he'd actually release the ball!). |

Just accept the fact jon that Dunfield is to you what Billy was to me.You will never accept that he plays well.
Dunfield was the sponsors MOM on Saturday, and 95% of fans I have spoken to since agree. Not quite sure how you saw Duxbury as MOM.He was hardly stretched by Northampton's forwards, particularly in the 2nd half, and his distribution was woeful (but obviously playing to instructions to hoof it).I think he's modelled himself on Redders. (See post). |
