I was born in Bury in 1963, the eldest of three boys.? I attended Fishpool Infants, St. Chads and The Derby Grammar School where I left in 1978 having gained the finest honours anybody could not wish for, bugger all.? I then spent a year at Peel Sixth Form college in a vain attempt to try and get somewhere.? Again I finished with exactly what I started with, bugger all. ? In June of 1980 I really started to think that I had to do something with my life. ? Going to Gigg Lane week in week out and not seeing them do much, apart from the occasional slide into the Fourth Division and crawl out again a few times had become a bit stale.? So, with new found longings for something better, I joined the Royal Navy on 1st June 1981 as a Junior Catering Accountant..? Did my basic training and was transferred to Plymouth in October of the same year.? I have been there ever since. ? Between then and now I have had various ships, starting with HMS Jupiter, an old Leander Class Frigate.? Next game something really new, a brand new ship, fresh from the builders yard, HMS London.? After a year on that I bumped into an old school friend, Christine, in the Knowsley one night.? Now after 11 years of happy married life we have been blessed with Four kids (3 Girls and 1 Lad).

After the London came HMS Boxer quickly followed by HMS Brave.?I have recently left HMS Chatham and am now based just outside Glasgow.? During my years I have practically travelled the world.? If we just say virtually everywhere apart from Australia then we have it cracked..?

I have followed Bury FC since my 6th Birthday when my Uncle Alan dragged me kicking and Screaming to Gigg for a game against Gillingham during the 66/67 season.? I was hooked.? The Shakers started to become a way of life, nothing mattered unless it was Bury.? I started collecting Programmes, as long as they were Bury games.? In 1981 when I left for the Navy, I had every complete season from 1947/48 to the end of 1980/81.? These were all thrown into a jumble sale about a week after I left, thanks mum.? I started again, but after completing thirty seasons (again) we moved to Ashton where some bastard nicked the lot.? So I have now started again.

Whilst with the Navy on my countless trips abroad, I discovered an unknown talent that has never really left me.? Drinking for England.? What a laugh we have had over the years.? After more or less eight years of drinking myself stupid, Christine came along and has, to be honest, stopped it.? I now have the occasional tipple now and then????

I am soon to join what I hope to be my last ship before leaving the service, the Aircraft Carrier, HMS Ark Royal.

During the next few months I hope to be starting various courses which will give me some accreditation within the IT industry and hopefully future employment.? Believe it or not but I have never completed a course to do with Computers.? My IT skills are all self taught.? I will be actively seeking employment, hopefully in the Internet world, but would like anything in the IT industry.?

Why did I create this site?? In January 1998 I gained access to the Net for the first time.? After a few weeks of messing around and trying to understand it, I found "The Un-Official Bury FC Web Site".? Old passions were aroused, I became hooked on the site.? I would sit in front of my PC for hours on end just reading everything that was on it.? That site was of course Carleton Handley's. ? Brilliant, as an Exiled Bury supporter, what more could I ask for.? After a few months of delving and a lot of reading, I thought, how do you write a web site. ? This is the end result.? I wrote it because, basically, I wanted to know how to do it.? Now I just hope that people like it and that they use it for what it's meant for, to give information out on Bury FC.? The Official Bury FC Web Site soon followed, and to be honest and a little modest, I still get more information out then the club.? I search the net every night and any stories I find go onto my "Exiled Files" which has become the most popular page on the site.? On October the 27th 1998, I came home for the weekend to Ashton and found that Carleton was closing his site the next day.? My site was back on-line within the hour.? I had closed it for a while for two reasons, Carleton was just too bloody good at it and mine was to be honest, crap.? The message board is now the only page that is read daily.? But it winds me up when people tell me that my message board is set as their home page.? My index page should be your home page.? Anyway I hope the site is popular and that people get some satisfaction out of looking at it.? I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction out of doing this.? I only wish the club would put more effort into the Official Site.

Future plans for the site, loads of em.? The biggest was the new domain name. ? Yet to come is the following, I want sponsorship for the site, If I get that then I will be seriously looking at getting Real Audio Commentary for the site, hopefully before the start of the 2000/01 season.? So if you have pot loads of spare cash and want to help me, get in touch.? I do all this in my spare time at home.? Somebody to pay my phone bill would be very nice but I ain't holding my breath.

Well that's about enough of my insane drivel. enjoy the site and please keep the message board clean.? And don't start insulting everyone.

See ya all at Gigg
