Shakers Duo both want move - Bury Times - Tuesday, 19 September 1995:
TONY RIGBY has, as expected. become the second Bury player in seven days to ask for transfer.  The 22-year-old midfielder- has been upset at a lack of sustained opportunity this season and, like defender lan Hughes. feels a move may he in his best interest.  Rigby. who began his career at Crewe. was signed from Barrow and is rated in the £100.000 bracket by the Shakers.  His request came four days after Hughes slapped in his request.  "lan came to me with his request for a move and I fully understand his frustration," admitted boss Stan Tement.  "He has not been able to command a regular place in the team and we will do all we can to help him in his wishes.  "However, while he is still here he remains very much part of my plans and the squad. The same applies to Tony although we don't want to keep any unhappy players."  Hughes, the Wales under 21 captain has always seen his best position as centre half but the form of Chris Lucketti and latterly Trevor Matthewson has left him on the Gigg Lane sidelines.  "I haven't fallen out with anyone and if I am picked I will continue to give everything I have for the club but I feel its time to move on." said Hughes, a product of the Bury youth system.  "It is not a decision I came to overnight and it wasn't an easy one to make but I feel a move will benefit me at this stage."  The Shakers will want in the region of £100.000 for the 21 -year-old who has attracted interest from Manchester City and Bristol City in previous seasons.
