It's Going Well - Ternent - Bolton Evening News - Wed, 13 Sept 1995:
BURY acting manager Stan Ternent has declared himself satisfied with his first week in the job. Last night's 2-2 draw at previously bottom club Lincoln City was earned with the worst performance of the three since Ternent took over from Mike Walsh. But taking all three outings into consideration, he said: "In the light of everything that has happened at the club we would have been delighted with four points from two away games and progress in the Coca-Cola Cup a week ago. "We are making good progress and now look forward to Cambridge at home on Saturday." But he remains concerned by the fact that his side still possess the joint worst goals against statistic in the division. "We are giving too many goals away and we must tighten up. But we created numerous chances and we can get better. If we keep the same endeavour and commitment that we are showing we will be alright. '"The important thing is that we stick together here - we all enjoy the highs and suffer the lows as a team." Meanwhile, Tement and versatile Welsh Under-21 international lan Hughes will not allow the players' request for a transfer to affect the team. The manager - who named Hughes on the bench last night - insisted he will remain a part of his plans until he moves on while the £200,000 rated player said: "I will give one hundred per cent if I am picked. I have just been frustrated at being in and out of the side."
