Stan's Verdict: We got the break we deserved - Bury Times - Fri, 08 Sep 1995:
CARETAKER boss Stan Ternent was understandably delighted with Bury's progression into the second round of the Coca-Cola Cup but also paid tribute to former manager Mike Walsh. "Mike did a smashing job here, he's a great lad, we were ail disappointed for him when he went," stressed Ternent. "The lads wanted to win for him. It has been a difficult time at the club and the players showed blinding character without playing as well as we can play. "We kept at it, we got the break we fully deserved and we've won convincingly in the end. Bracey made a marvellous save to keep us in the game early in the second half and Trevor Matthewson was outstanding after being out of the side for so long. It was never going to be a pretty game but we did enough over the two games to justify going through."
