Defeat was humiliating admits major shareholder - Bury Times - Tuesday, 14 November 1995:
MAJOR shareholder Hugh Eaves, the man who bankrolls the Shakers, was as stunned as anyone after Saturday's meek collapse.  He refused to say whether his financial input would be affected but it seems clear that the squad will be trimmed. "We needed a good cup run but committed suicide", he declared. "There will be no large scale changes but I feel humiliated. I cannot quite work out what is wrong." Mr Eaves said he had been "amazed" by the substitutions and upset by the soft goals and the impression given by some players that they had "all the time in the world".   Despite scoring a hat-trick for the A team at Everton recently, Jimmy Mulligan could be one of the first departures. He hasn't figured in Ternent's plans since the manager succeeded Mike Walsh and has even been unable to hold down a place in the reserves.  Twenty-one-year-old Mulligan, who cost £15,000 from Stoke City in May 1994, has played eleven times at senior level and scored three goals
