Bury left in Cold - Manchester Evening News - Wednesday, 27 Dec 1995:
BURY, who drew 0-0 with Colchester at the weekend, had their Boxing Day fixture at lowly Scunthorpe frozen off.
Meanwhile, top scorer Phil Stant has gone nine games without a goal and his striking partner David John-son three.
But injuries to back-up forwards John Paskin and Mark Carter have reduced manager Stan Ternent's options to get the goals flowing. The defence however are playing superbly and have not conceded a goal in nine hours. However excellent the backline there will always be an argument for a recall of the club's most valuable player Chris Lucketti against his home town club Rochdale on Saturday. Lucketti, who is over his suspension, knows the boss has always maintained he doesn't like changing a winning side. Ternent said five good chances were created against promotion rivals Colchester. "We are one point nearer to promotion and it's all getting a bit tight up there," added Tement.
