Managers Verdict - Bury Times - Tuesday, 19 December 1995:
"I thought it was a fantastic performance," declared STAN TERNENT. "We played marvellous football in very trying conditions* Every player won his battle and I thought it was as good as we have played all season. We could have won the game by six goals at a conservative estimate. It was a thoroughly comprehensive victory. "Gillingham are a physical and good side, hut we stood up to it and I thought we absolutely murdered them. We defended as a team, defending starts at the front and that's what we did.  "When Rigby got a dead leg I was thinking about taking him off but I knew he could turn the match. I did keep asking him throughout the second half if he wanted to come off.  "The crowd were fantastic and that helps us so much. If we play well and get the crowd on our side and then we can respond to them,"  Tony Pullis, the Gills boss, was honest in his assessment.  "Bury thoroughly deserved the three points they were better than us in nearly every department," he admitted. "We gave the bail away far to often and in the end we were overrun because of that."
