Another new feature that Simon and myself are planning to launch during the season is a "Classic Goals" feature within the Shakers World site.

We intend to obtain as many Bury goals as possible to build a database of video goals.

The first "Test" goal is now available for all to see and is available in two formats - Broadband and Downloadable.

We have a small collection of video's to choose from. If you have any Bury games on Video featuring great goals, please let us borrow them so we can shove them on the site.

The first video is linked below

For broadband users, click this

To download a zipped version of this goal, use this link

I've got a very poor quality VHS from season "late eighties" I think, could be early nineties....anyhow, it shows a couple of crackers...Andy Feeley 35-40yd strike, can't remember who against, possibly Mansfield, and another fantastic 35+yd by Nigel Greenwood v PNE. There maybe more, it's ages since I sat and watched it.... If anybody recorded the Bury v Sunderland (promotion) game on Sky, the Darren Bullock piledriver would be a great addition to the archive !
Video at your disposal........let me know.

No good for me Gord - I'm a Mac user. Could you save it as an mpeg (or mp3 even) instead?

execellent idea Gordon. How about an old kit feature as well.

Further to this how about a video/DVD compilation of great goals! If possible (and i know it would sell well), could we not also sell in the club shop old style kits like Toffs? or do they have the license to do this?

if not, gordon out!!!!

Gordon,

Has the club not got copies of all the old highlights videos it used to sell??

I remember getting them when Liam Robinson used to play. There were some excellent goals.

Also Tony Rigbys free kick at St Andrews is one of the best goals I've ever seen.

surely the club kept a hard copy of all Burys videos of the season from years gone by. I have a fair mixture many without commentary and pretty dodgy reproduction.
I gurantee if you got hold of these and got em digitally remastered with "interesting" commentary you'd have a lot of takers.
I've just got a dvd recorder and am about to try to copy them as the video quality seems to diminish over the years and see what results I get. Happy to send a copy when done Gordon but it'll be a few weeks to months before I get them all done.

The club has not kept anything on video. I have a collection of official match video's from the last two seasons, but I want stuff that was played before I started there

I'm sure someone like Pete Cullen would still have them ..

Just had a quick ferret around and I've got some vids of 89-90 season and after this date.
Gave my brother a ring, not in, but his wife informs me he has quite a stash gathering dust. Can't believe we are the only ones Gordon, bound to be a load in and around Bury. But if not I'll get recording!

What has shocked both of us is the lack of material available to us about Bury FC's past which is why we have specifically asked for a history section on the new site. Any Bury FC videos, audio recordings, newspaper cuttings, etc that you have we would be greatful if we could copy them and put them up on the site so that there is a permanent record available of the Mighty Shakers.
I am sure that between us, over this season, we can build a considerable record of the Club as it is something that is sadly missing. We have a long tradition and despite the ups and downs of it all it is something we should be very proud of.

I've got loads of "Shakers Scrapbook" and "From The Archives" pages from programmes from the eighties. Plus quite a few pictures cut out.

I always thought that all this history should be on the site. It seemed ridiculous to me that if I want to know who was top scorer in a certain year (or any other trivia) I couldn't find it on the net.

Y3Kshakers does have quite a lot of decent historical info on it.

Stevo, that is just what we are looking for. Would you be able to drop them off for us at the club sometime. We will take very good care of them.

Is West 10 Bury 0 video any use - missed penalty then Enty blazing over the bar?

Within the last few seasons they used to show videos in the club shop before games featuring the 80s etc. What's happened to them?

I've got a recording of the Nationwide League Review show (from the early hours of the morning!) when we beat Millwall and got presented with the Championship trophy but I'm sure I can't be the only one!

Gordon-
My dad's been sending me the back pages from the Bury Times for about 8 years. I've got odd ones spread about the house somewhere. Are these any good to you, or do you have all this stuff on microfiche or something?
I'll try to dig out some vids.

Gordon

Bury times are good to have, I have nothing like this whatsoever, basically - there is no archive of any description held by the club
