1. England - for obvious reasons.
2. Prestwich Heys - hometown team, played there briefly, and badly some would say. Those with longer memories will know Heys were a real force in amateur football in the late 60's/early 70's. There record attendance was around 4,600 for an FA Amateur Cup game in Prestwich, they got to the quarter finals in 1970, had a player represent England in the Amateur team, andwere the only team ever to win all the trophies in Lancashire in a season. I've done more jobs at that club in my time than Gordon has at Bury, secretary, groundsman, programme editor, second team manager, committee member, barman, press officer, kit washer.......!
3. Manchester United - When I was refereeing, I was always impressed with the way United got involved with local football. They were very helpful to Salford Schools FA, Eccles Referees, and other causes. I remember them sending speakers to fundraising events for no fee, allowing use of The Cliff for the local youngsters, players taking time to watch and talk to the kids, which is great to see, as the kids idolised them. Fergie in particular has always impressed me, when he's not ranting, he's a very pleasant bloke, I remember him coming to talk at a dinner we'd organise in 1989 where a United fan lambasted him and his tactics. He remained calm and said he'd believed what he was doing was right and would come right in the end, I wish I'd stopped off at the bookies on the way home. Plus, I love having a second team that wins things, makes up for the barren years at Gigg.
4. Halifax Town - Loved going there as a referee, the people were great. Even when they went down to the conference, they were still positive, they just got on with it and bounced back. I also used one of my greatest put downs at The Shay. Jimmy Case was in the dug out behind me, giving me some stick, so I turned around and said 'I remember you, I had a sticker on my exercise book at school with your picture on it'. I won't tell you what he said!!!!
5. Manchester City - Kevin Keegan, top man!

Sorry, I missed out 'honest' too. How many other managers would admit it was them that was not up to the job?
