Just to put the record straight
Cheap cracks about me and Wimbledon are not on. I am so emotional on this issue I really don't know where to start. I love Wimbledon more than I can say. So I can't really be objective in a clinical sence when all the time I am typeing my heart is in my boots. When people say they hate Wimbledon, I simply can't understand it. Yes they don't like this carry on about moving to a ground somewhere near Milton Keynes. But that shouldn't be a cause for hatred but one for symphaphy - Even the organisors of Wimbledon AFC - ( who I know quite well) do not hate Wimbledon F C - - This is a very sad expierience for all who follow Wimbledon. Cheap jibes about making me annoyed won't work, all they'll do is get me very very upset. I think I might know a little bit more about whats going on thasn the average Bury fan

Laurence seeing as you are a self confessed Wimbledon fan, why do you spend so much time on here telling others how big a Bury fan you are.
People have a right to hate what happened to a local community club such as Wimbledon and what AFC Wimbledon done is honourable.
If some one tried to move our ground I suspect you'd sympathise with them as well.

About the Wimbledon thing...and Sheffield United, for that matter.
We all loved Wimbledon for what they did, giving us little clubs hope. It's not the fault of the fans or the players; but you can't see clubs re-located (or not) to a meaningless town at least 2 hrs away by car or public transport. All feelings for Wimbledon MUST be directed towards the new club, so that owners KNOW they can't do that sort of thing.
Sheff Utd is easy. The Blunts were OK till whats-his-face and that other guy took over. And they stole our players.

Self confessed - etc - I have never denied being a Wimbledon fan - I have worn my Wimbledon scarf at Gigg Lane - Whats your beef - I could go into detail but I won't - I am proud of the fact that I supported the Dons for many years. But to hate a team because they are moving is beyond belief - Why hate them - Look at it like this. They had one of the best records in ameteur football, they joined the Southern league and won it year in and year out. They beat a 1st Div team away in the F A cup ( has happenned very rarely) They were elected to the Football league. Made the top Div in less than 10 years - Wopn the F A cup against the odds. made enemies throughout London, because they kept beating there teams. Lived on a shoestring ; should not have happenned. Got told by the F A to leave their ground as it was unfit. Shared Selhurst Park. The Merton Council would not let them build in Wimbledon. I sat in the stand long before they left the premiership for a league cup match against Torquay with less than 2000 people in the ground. The manager had a heart attack. It goes on. Liverpool hated the Dons so much they threw the last match of the season against Bradford to put the "wombles" down - Lets not hate them but be sorry fot them because the dream is over, they will go out of business before the seasons over. - Ehen I came to live in the south . I didn't know anybody - I met a guy at work, who talked football to me. he often asked about Bury. I had just been to Colchester to see us thrashed 5 1 - he said he was a Wimbledon fan and would I come down to watch a cup game against Scunthorpe , as Alan Knill was playing I thought I would go. I went again to the next round against Sunder;and, again to the one after against United, which was a great match and I was hooked - I have never stopped being a Bury fan. So don't lecture me on that. Like I said I am very upset and emotional about the whole thing. I feel like crying to be truefull. It is no matter for debate or rationality the whole thing is so sad. And I say again why hate them?

Laurence,
I think people hate the "current" incarnation of Wimbledon FC in the Koppel guise. I think you'll find AFC Wimbledon with a higher than average vote for 2/3rd favourite team.
Wimbledon are now hated because of the signals that it sends to those ludicrously crass football chairman that believe that football can be franchised.
Moving to Milton Keynes was a cynical move and "hopefully" the old wimbledon will die to prove that this won't work with football fans.
I may sound harsh but you now have the biggest non-league club (bar none) in the country - AFC. They should be applauded, congratulated and celebrated and they will do what the old Wimbledon did and march through the divisions to get to their rightful place.
Those that said they hated Wimbledon hate the Koppell-Wimbledon and feel for all wombles (and part-wombles such as yourself) who have been sh*t upon by MKDons, the FA and the Football League.
My top five are:
1. Bolton
2. Manchester United
3. MK Dons
4. Sheffield United
5. Rochdale
Horwich :rl:
Man Utd :rl:
Sheff Utd :rl:
Oldham :rl:

Don't refer to me by name - this is a general board
I don't like what you say about Wimbledon - And I am surprised that a Bury fan can be so out of touch. Regarding the owner of Wimbledon what choice does he have. And would you like Bury to start again. The only two plkaces I can get to to watch football and be back home before 7.30 on a Saturday are Esast Croydon or Brighton. So I will suffer by the move more than most. I have no affiliation with Wimbledon AFC - If I want to watch non league football all I have is Tonbridge Angels - I like my football. Wimbledon have been a source of great joy to me. You have got caught up in the great romance of the new club - working its way throught the leagues. But it would have been better for the people involved to have supported the Dons at Selhurst over the years. They have consistantly grumbled - first at Sam - (who packed his bags for Cardiff) on a regular Basis and now at the new regime who have poured millions in. I have no doubt the clud will go bust before long. Which puts me back to the point - why hate them. There are plenty of more horrible clubs out there than poor old Wimbledon, who are only trying to survive - What would you do if you owned it and it was costing you millions- a simple question ? But don't bother answering it - I don't want anymore of your self indulgent platitudes - This is a real world.
There's a lot of hate on here chaps :o
Can't understand how people can hate so many other teams!!
I hate B*lton & Utd, but that's about it. I don't particularly like Sheff Utd, but that's only because W  rnock is there. I suppose if we're talking National teams, then I hate Argentina and I'm seriously going off Scotland because of the way they hate us English, but I still want all the home nations to do well when they play.
Other than that I don't like whatever team we happen to be playing on a mtch day.

Laurence,
Only 200 people regularly turned up to watch the current Wimbledon FC, all the fans, editorials and people running the club outside of Koppel - agree with the position I have put forward.
Wimbledon did have the opportunity to move back to Merton but turned it down in favour of moving to MK. This was only about making more money for the owners.
If Bury were moved to Hull would Bury fans be in uproar? Yes... because no football fans like franchising. If you think that the MK move is a good idea then so be it but the fans, football clubs and other media observers think it is bad news.
I don't know how I'd feel if it was Bury but I don't think football should be franchised especially when the owners will make a massive amount of money by doing it. Sorry that you feel I am being overly aggressive, but this issue isn't one just for fans of Wimbledon but footie fans in general.
1, SHEFFIELD UTD
2, HORWICH

Stop addressing me as Laurence If you want a personnal chat my telephone number and email are in the public domain. You get me all wrong as you usually do. Im not arguing on the facts of this desperate case - 200 watching so on. I am telling you it is no reason to hate Wimbledon. Hate is a big word. And I don't believe for one minute that people who watch the new team "Hate " Wimbledon, They are all like me deeply upset with the whole issue. Imagine if it was Bury , would you " Hate " Bury, never niether would I , but you say you hate Wimbledon. To hate is a powerful emotion, You may hate the owners, but that's a different matter. A lot of people hated Robinson, and WColin, but that dosn't mean they hate Bury. So don't get me wrong, I'm not happy with whats going on. I have to live with it. I am deeply depressed about the club folding and I'm realistic enough to realise that maybe it's the only way forward for the owners. Just maybe the club will survive. They are in a very perilous position. The people at AFC Wimbledon do not hate their old club, They may not like the bloke that's running it. So stop using this message board to show off to your mates. You can email me if you have something sensible to say other than this hatred nonsece. I have not produced a list of twams I hate because , I don't there are a lot of clubs like Preston I can't stand , or Rangers who have a sectarian policy which is digusting. But hate I have better things to do with my time than going round hating football clubs. Not for me to say but I find this topic deeply offensive, it brings out the base nature of a lot of people and goes beyond light hearted banter.

laurence (whoops, there i go causing trouble before i've even started!)
i often support your view and often think you are in the right but frankly your obsession with not being referred to by your name is bizarre.
this is a message board. you post your opinion with your name (or alias) with your message. yours is laurence, mine is blackpudding, others have names from the obvious to the ridiculous. but all of us have names and all of us post messages with those names.
it's plainly obvious that somebody, when referring to one of your posts, will start the response with your name. if everybody took your attitude the board would be unreadable.
i really don't know why you have this attitude but i would love to hear the logic behind it.

PEOPLE ON THE MESSAGE BOARD DO NOT REFER TO LAURENCE BY HIS NAME!
You must call him SIR! and doff your cap when addressing him and NEVER, I SAY NEVER (I'm going all Fred Elliott) EVER look him in the eye!
Stoop your heads and show him the respect he deserves!
WHY, DON'T YOU KNOW WHO HE IS???!!!
He's the man who was the Fire Safety Officer at Gigg Lane and every time he saw Terry Robinson he was always busy on the phone. Sir Laurence won't have a word said against our Terry , and we all love Terry so lets give him the respect he commands!
And Sir owns a bookshop as well, So as Lord of the Manor he has been good enough to provide books for the peasantry to read.
I believe we should rename the Main Stand in honour of all that he has done.

It's not very clever to resort to personnal abuse - People using this board should not get into persoalities but yo keep there comments in general terms - Most of the posts that start Laurence or get personnal I believe are outside the point of this board. This board is not for personnal atacks but for general discussion. I feel that the attacts on me are are a pathetic attempt by feeble minded persons to apear forcefull and to a degree funny. There is a lot of showing off to their friends going on, and I've said it before and I'll keep saying it a lynch mob mentality. Anybody who dosn't agree with the mob is mocked, degraded and attacked. This board should be about free speach. I object to posts that start Laurence - because they are becoming personnal. This is not the idea of a message board, in my opinion. If you want to talk to me direct my email is available, but no that won't do scoffing in public appears to be the order of the day.
To be fair Laurence, you do leave yourself open to it. Anyone with passionate views will attract opposing views from elsewhere.
I get quite passionate about various things and probably get carried away in some of my posts, but I'm prepared to take it back.
At least you try and back up your opinion with facts, which is what I look for in an argument.
Like many others, I don't always agree with you, but you make your point well and obviously care about the subject.
But, you have to be prepared to take some back!
I guess I must be in the minority.
I don't hate any football club.

I don't think the point of this message board / forum is to advertise commercial websites.
This post is not addressed to anyone in particular, as that is just not on.
Really, I find it strange that anyone can protest just because somebody uses his name, saying that this board is no place for names to be used, yet can advertise (for free, i presume) a commercial website.
Surely the point of a forum is to discuss issues. Occasionally, people may want to express agreement/disagreement with a previous post. Should we therefore have each post numbered, or can we all be grown up about and use the name/ pseudonym of the poster? Or should we be like the house of commons, and address everything to Mr. Speaker?

It is not my intention to lecture anybody - I have been around a long time so by default I might know a little more than a few but probably a lot less than most especially when it comes to recent events at Gigg - I don't pretend to be well up in current affairs. What started this row. Was not me, but the attacks on Wimbledon, and people saying they hated them. As a season ticket holder of Wimbledon for a few years I felt I had to see why they were hated. So I defenned them to the best of my ability. Then I started being lectured by people some knew a lot about some knew little. But it transpired that it was just another excuse to have a go at me. One guy said he put Wimbledon to annoy Laurence. Well fair enough I can see the funny side. But because I find it very, and I mean very distressing I had to fight my corner. To say I was lecturing is unfair. I won't dig up all the arguments again, but I feel it's wrong to get personal with me over this. I can't stop you hating Wimbledon if you want to it's a free country, but don't expect me to lie down and take it. And whoever brought my personal life into it - i.e I once knew Terry Robinson in a professional capacity or I sell books, was only showing off. He wasn't very funny, he was very rude and cheeky, and out of line. I was trying to be serious about a particular issue and he whoever it was (because Iam not interested in silly names) was just being totally unhelpful and meaningless. If we are discussing hate, maybe he should look at himself, and ask with all the problems in the world he finds time to hate football teams, and to all intents and purposes me.

York City - See Above
Location: Radcliffe
Heh.
HB,
If you have a problem with Radcliffe, please feel free to have a "chat" with me about it at the next home match. South Stand Block H, Row S Seat 156 or 157 (depending on which has the least bird sh*t on it).
There a quite a few Bury fans who live over the border so you might be best not insulting us.
Okay, well when your fans stop saying things like the beautiful city of York is a 'scum town', I'll stop taking the mick out of Radcliffe.* It works both ways.
* Well I won't as I have to keep up my Whitefield roots, but I won't do it on here.
HB.
My humblest apologies, York is indeed a fine City with a lovely cathedral and a colourful history.
The York fans who we ran into on the way back to the train station last season are scum though.

I don't hate any teams because I couldn't care less about anybody other than Bury and, to a much lesser extent, Man City. But after the way their fans celebrated on our pitch after we were relegated I can't believe more people don't have Port Vale in their top five.
The York fans who we ran into on the way back to the train station last season are scum though.
No arguments here.

Compared to some towns Bury is filthy embarrasing dump, take off your rose tinted glasses and have a walk around the centre,a good place to start is the Wilkinsons car park and then the Rock and Kay Gardens.
Bury could be a reasonably nice town if it wasnt for bad planning and the scrotes who defile it.
Look at the pigs ear they made of Kay Gardens. And why hasn't "Pyramid Park" been eradicated and put to better use?
