View Full Version : Most improved player
We have signed (in the past) several players not really up to it, who after a change of position have become firm favourites.
I can remember Frank Beaumont who played inside right - he was terrible - he got moved to right half and never put a foot wrong.
Ray Parry is another who dropped out of the forward line and became a very useful half back.
Any more :?:
I suppose there are quite a few who did the opposite like Colin Cramb for instance

Paul Hilton was a poor attacker who found his niche when switched to central defence.

Then there was Lee Anderson, he was a terrible right back, but then amazingly became a fantastic multi drop van driver when he was moved to United Carriers !

Maybe we can start a "Where are they now ? " feature........Former Shakers, what are they up to, running a pub, market stall, selling seafood in pubs from wicker baskets....etc..etc...
For starters..Wayne Entwistle..for many years now has been running his dairy / farm produce company...
I last saw Stevie Johnson stood outside Albany International (Pilsworth) one lunchtime wearing blue overalls, suggesting a manual worker of some descript.
Any more ???

Whadya mean, who?
He played 1 game in the Leyland Daft Trophy when we beat Chester 2-1 at Sealand Road. And he's my cousin. So there.
Am I imaging it or didn't our star (?) midfielder Adrian Randall leave us to become an HGV driver?
Is that you Robbo? That number plate rings a bell!
"Edit" In fact it probably isn't, as Cleveleys is nowhere near Spain!

Sorry definitely not Robbo, but you are correct that it is my number plate.
I thought Derek Spence ran an off licence or has he stopped doing that now?
Then of course there is the legend himself - John Forrest goalkeeper to coach/scout for "THE MIGHTY SHAKERS".

Derek did, indeed run an off licence at Nangreaves but has been with Blackpool FC for a couple of years now.
Brian Williams is Football In The Community Officer at Shrewsbury Town.
He is also officially not dead, before the rumours start again.
