In some postings below ** see the hated teams!

Some people say to me
"Get a Life"

As these people know nothing about me.

I was wondering if they could explain the remark.
Do they mean I'am not very sensible
Or I am out of touch
Or they think I am an old women
or they don't think I enjoy life
or there is something lacking in my lefe
or their lives are so fantastic they can lecture me
or its just a skit to look big in front of their mates - The old have a go at Laurence week
Because we don't understand him. He dosn't think like us, he dosn't agree with us. He swims against the tide. He won't joint the lynch mob?

now I think my life is pretty good - I have a great wife , two nice kids, a great brother and sister , I live in a mansion, I have a smashing business, I live in the forest, I can mess with the computer all day if I want to, I was a fire officer for 30 years I have great memories. I have just got back from Portsmouth were I spent the weekend, Fantastic birthday party, and I visited the theatre at Chitchester. Had a great meal in the theatre restaurant.

So Manchester Shaker if you have a better life . Good on you.

Just curious

Hi

Thanks for the birthday wishes

Vic I can't spell. I always had a good woman to do that sort of thing for me

I was half cut when I did that post. Birthday Champagne!

Above my bed ? A picture - I would have to take Marilyn down to put me up. I am a fan of MM.

Best regards

Laurence

Laurence you are full of surprises.
I would never have thought that Marilyn Manson would be someone that you were even familiar with let alone worship with a photograph of him above your bed.
Maybe you are trying to cling on to your youth with this, who knows, maybe people on this board who know you better than I could enlighten me as to your musical tastes.

:P Dr P and some of the guys who have been using this board and its predecessor for years , used to pull my leg over MM and the fact I drove trucks all night for a hobby. Actually this boring life of mine, ( the bed I referred to is in my house in France), I sometimes refer to as my summer palace. I have a Marilyn Monroe room , full of collectables, and being a book dealer I have over 70 books on Marilyn. "Mind you I have to get a life". The house is near Lens - I have been to the ground about 15 euros behind the goal. Not bad . I am going shortly for a week or two so I'll miss the start of the season, but I've rigged up UK TV so I can get the sport as I quietly get mallow with the fruit of the vine.
Music besides MM singing I don't bother with. Very little modern stuff does for me. I tend to stick to the sixties stuff. Usually Dusty Springfield or the Beatles. I have all the Beatles autographs.
I used to go to the Rawtenstall Astoria and the Nelson Imp, in the 60s to see all the bands , but lately I listen to cricket on the radio. or Classic FM. Must be getting to be that old Southern Git.

How could I forget - I am a bit of a fan of Miles Davies and other Jazz men. We went to the Queens arma in Rawtenstall for years to the modern Jazz club. I also went to the old Accrington Stanley folk club were I saw Paul Simon sing " Bridge over troubled water " for the first time , he said he had just written it.

Laurence, I was refering to Brian's spelling of 'can't'. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

Must admit sounds like you have a very interesting life Laurence.
Been to France quite a lot myself but never learnt the language beyond "O" level, (mores the pity) otherwise I think I would have bought something over there years ago. It's a very beautiful country and the pace is much better.

Hi
I can get a pic of Marilyn - for you.
My picture would just frighten the kids, or stop you getting a girlfriend.
Of course burglers would leg it - thinking Dracular lived there, or Dean Kierly lol
Sorry Dean
