Big outcry at price fixing on football shirts by the FA, MUFC, Umbro and JJB amongst others. Most of the coverage on 5Live was expressing outrage at footy shirts costing a few quid to make in a Third World sweatshop being sold for £40 just about everywhere.

Er, how much are our shirts this year (again)?

Don't get me wrong, I buy a new shirt most years, and I know "cash strapped Bury" need the money, but they do have a point about the price.

Frankly I'd buy the home and away given a choice but I don't have the best part of £100 to burn. Lower prices, more sales I wonder?

undoubtedly right, at £40 i only get a new top every other season, seems a waste to get one for less then twelve month. a sensible price and I would buy a new one every season. top tip try toffs if they're still going got a few old style bury tops off them, retro is always in. 8)

The Baggies promised they wouldn't have another new shirt this season :) but they have  (a new deal they say)... but to keep the fans happy they have said anyone who wishes to return last years shirt gets £10 knocked off this seasons

I have to admit I was laughing my socks off when I heard the greedy sods had finally been brought to book. To top it all I read (and then saw for real) that Asda had bought 6,500 Manchester United PLC shirts in Europe and were knocking them out for around £25 which is £15 cheaper than OT's Mega Store!

I hope the OFT keep going at this and bring the likes of Adidas and Nike and of course R****K to book as well as they all charge inflated prices.

Our shirts are made by one of the smaller manufacturers (none of the big boys seem to believe there is life outside the top two Divisions) and whilst not excusing their pricing structure - perhaps they cannot afford to sell them any cheaper - they would do well to take note that if they sold them cheaper they might sell more shirts. £40 is way too expensive - even an England shirt is only £30 (not that I'd ever buy one of course!
