From Teamtalk:

"Bury boss Andy Preece has moved to ease his defensive crisis by snapping up Hull defender Greg Strong on loan.

The 27-year-old centre-back will spend the next two months with the Shakers after failing to hold down a regular place under Hull manager Peter Taylor."

Despite their story, which incidently will be live on ours very soon, this deal is far from sorted and may take a few days to sort out. He may play tonight, it all depends on Hull

Just noticed that story on TT, said it was on on Wednesday, still an experienced defender is just what we needed, and still only 27, fingers crossed something can be sorted out. Things are certainly looking good for the new season. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ANDY

HULL CITY Former Motherwell defender Greg Strong has joined the Tigers' Third Division rivals Bury on loan with a view to a permanent deal.

FOOTBALL: PREECE ADDS STRONG TO DEFENCE
Bury boss Andy Preece has moved to ease his defensive crisis by snapping up Hull defender Greg Strong on loan.

The 27-year-old centre-back will spend the next two months with the Shakers after failing to hold down a regular place under Hull manager Peter Taylor.

"We lost a number of players during the close season, including Michael Nelson, so Greg will go some way to filling those gaps," said Preece.

As a matter of some urgency, we MUST come up with a better nickname tha "Strongy"
Big and "strong" (naturally), firm defensive headers, not afraid to dwell on the ball a bit, though he might need pointing in the right direction from time to time and may lack a bit of pace against teams quicker than Eastwood. He's not Chris Lucketti. Reminded me of Peter Swan (1973 version).
By the way, was he really 37 when he played for us?

According to official site, Strong has signed a 3 month loan deal and Gareth Seddon has signed up for 6 months.

p.s. For info, the Carling Cup match against Tranmere is on 12th August.
