A 5--0 WIN AND A CLEAN SHEET!
Can't be bad for any team!
Well done lads. They showed some good touches tonight.
Garner had some good saves, Nugent sent some lovely crosses in, Kennedy had a good game. Porter showed some good finishing and Cleggs goal was superb. We missed a few goals but showed some promising passing.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Porter was outstanding tonight. His penalty was tucked away perfectly and his two headed goals were very well taken after great build up play.
Tom Kennedy has got a sweet left foot. He hasn't really been tested defensively yet...I'd like to see how he does with some big hairy welshman charging at him on August 9th.
Ian Joy looked good on the left side when he came on.
Colim Kazim-Richards had a good 10 minutes or so on the right when he came on near the end.
We played well as a team last night. We looked solid at the back, worked hard in the middle and looked very lively up front, with Chris Porter at the heart of everything we did going forward. He has a lot of good touches and is deceptively fast and skillful for a big lad.
A few weeks ago, I tried to name a starting line up for this season. I get the feeling that would now be very different, especially as it contained Newby and Nelson!!
How's about:
