612 - i cant believe that bury can charge so much for a friendly against oldham reserves, esp 3 days after the city match! if they would have charged less, they would have got far more people in, probably received more money, and have a better atmosphere! still, a great win by all accounts! 5 friendly wins now - 1-0 2-0 3-0 4- and 5-0! not bad!
I think you need to bear in mind that the game clashed with the second episode of Don't drop the coffin on ITV.

I agree. £10 is far too much for a friendly against a non-premiership side. If it had been £5 we would have gone.
We can't have made much out of the friendlies this year. About £15,000 at the most I would have thought. We must have made about £50-60,000 from the United match 2 years ago and about £30,000 plus from the City match last year.

RIP OFF BURY
Must agree. Could not quieten the missus who was beside herself when she saw the level of opposition. £5 is more than enough for this type of game, especially when they are cropping up two a week. Lets see a few more voicing these opinions at the FB open meeting on Thursday. Remember the new Chairman will be there.
Please don't turn the meeting into a whinging session, grumbling about what are, in the light of our recent troubles, minor quibbles.

I know of at least one guy who turned up and asked for a family ticket which he normally buys for himself and two kids onl;y to be told there were none available and that he'd have to pay £20 to watch us play Oldham Youth. He turned round and walked away.....and he isn't coming back!
Well done Shakers thats another 3 fans you've lost!

Yep. They still can't get their pricing policy right!
I went to the Man City game with my lad. I was appalled to find that family tickets weren't available, so it cost me £15 for the two of us. How can it be right to charge MORE for a friendly??
I left him at home for the Oldham game!

Perhaps the club really needs every penny it can get over the close season and thinks it can chance it's arm because the fans will understand.
Obviously the fans don't all understand. But really, isn't vowing to stay away from Gigg Lane over a fiver cutting your nose to spite your face?
In the short term the sums would have added up. We wouldn't have attracted double the crowd had the admission been halved and it's wishful thinking to say we would, so the club would have made more money on the night, for the short term, by doing what it did.
Is that the same short term view that got us into trouble again this season?
We should be looking at the long term future and hopefully Mr Doweck will be able to do that.
Having said that, which ever way they plan, they'll always upset some fans.

eaves wig, i am sorry but i completely disagree with ur comment! i didnt go cos i couldnt afford to spend 20 quid on 2 friendlies in 3 days against 2 reserve teams! it seems like so many other people are of the same view! granted they were only reserve teams we were up against, however, surely more than 1000 would turn up to see a local derby, when we were getting round 3000 against teams like boston and exeter last season!the amount raised from tuesday night is going to be a pittance anyway, they may well have tried something different in a bid to boost the crowd!

"Even if the club only charged a fiver to get in, the gate would still not increase"
How do you know until you try ?
