 Sorry to be a nuisance but can you indicate when this will be available. I took money from work colleagues who are keen to know where there seat is as well as proving I didn't spend it in the pub!

...and if you need some help with it, shout! There's enough of use who can fill in names in Excel, even if we all each do a few. I'm very happy to do some (you can tell I'm not overstretched at work currently!). Having frozen my tripes off filling in the paper forms in January, I'd be very happy to see the damned thing competed!

I mentioned it the other week, didnt get a reply. Obviously more important things to do than fulfill the promise to the thousands of people who helped the club survive.

:?: I just wish someone in the know would let us know anything about the prospects of seeing the spreadsheet come to fruition. It would save me a lot of ear ache.

Does anyone know who to contact about this?

Gordon

The contact for the spreadsheet is Gandalf, however, he is away on holiday at the moment.

I work in a school in London and a number of pupils took pity on my football team and sponsered seats. My family too, who aren't big fans of football also got involved - yeah, I know the gesture was meant to be the main aspect of this but it would be nice to know where the seats where.

I've read about this issue a number of times in this forum and nothing appears to have been sorted.

Its taking quite some time. We've had the raw data for a good few months and over half the ground has been input. This will be available via an online database once the main stand has been normalised and the south stand competed.

Hope you had a nice holiday. Can you shead some light on the availability of the spreadsheet for us mere mortals Mr. Gandalf

Gandalf

The Manchester Road End is complete, The Main Stand should be finished by the end of this week, The South Stand is about 50% done, and the two blocks of the Cemmy End that we did have been done as well. I reckon it should be completed within the next two to three weeks.
However before we can launch it I will be needing a few volunteers to log the seat names for the few blocks in the Cemmy End that we did not manage to get through on the day and we are also hoping to get a sponsor for when we launch it. Any offers?

Gandalf

Ok. I will let you know when we have finished inputting the data and I will arrange a date to access the Cemmy End so that the remainder of the info can be collected. It shouldn't take us too long and then the spreadsheet can be quickly completed. :D

I am glad this has come up.
I am looking for some volunteers to finish off the data collection prior to the game on the 14th or 28th of Feb(pending an ok from the club). I am having problems finding the time to get to the ground to collect the names in the few remaining sections of the Cemmy End to put onto the spreadsheet. I cannot be there but I am looking for some volunteers to step forward.
When the names are all inputted we will then open it up to people who cannot find theirs and get things sorted.
I know some people are saying they cannot find their seats but I can assure you that there are over 10,000 on the database and this is certainly another issue that need resolving.
There will also son be a computer available in the FB Cabin so that searches can be conducted from there.

You don't give up do you Unsworth?

I gave up looking for my name a long time ago. My friend (a Swansea fan) who I persuaded to buy a seat has his name in the database, but no sign of mine - even though I bought three!!!

Rather than this keep cropping up let me give you a schedule of what is going to happen.
There are over 11,000 names on the spreadsheet at present and still a few more to add. I have asked for volunteers twice to help me collect the rest but have had no response so once we hit the close season(and I get a footy free weekend) I will be spending a Saturday collecting the remainder, putting them onto the spreadsheet, and then stage one will be complete.
I am aware that there are some labels missing so I will then be asking people who cannot find their name to let me have their details so that I can sort those out as well and will then be looking to find someone who can print sticky labels for me and will then allocate seats to them and put them on the spreadsheet as well.
It is not being ignored but it has become a one man job and that one man is me.
I am incredibly busy at the moment but this has not been forgotten as I hate things that paint FB or the club in a negative light.
I also think we probably need to open out the search option a little as there is no way that all these names are missing from it.
It is in hand, incredibly overdue, but not forgotten by any means.

I suspect that it is the database search that is at fault rather than the information within it Gandalf. As you know I have collected names with you on on several occasions and I have tried to use the search facility to find some names that I know must be there - as I noted them down myself - but the search does not find them.

Maybe someone out there has access to a better/different database that we could use?

Re collecting the rest of the names - I always respond when you ask for help, I was not aware that you were still looking for volunteers - just drop me a PM or post a plea on the MB and I will gladly help again.

Sorry people but it wasn't meant to read as abruptly as it did. It was meant to be more a statement of how it is finally going to be finished off. I am very aware of the help that I have already had and no doubt will get when I set the date for the last data collection day.

IU wish people would stop rabbitting on about blinkin seats - I'm sure Gandalf has better things to do with his time - Can't we put this to bed.

Lawrence

Why are all your posts so idiotic?

The seat thing was set up for fan's , they want to find out about it as they have been told nothing.

meatypete1

alot of people who arent fans want to know, its the least they can do after putting their money into the club.

Laurence
22-04-2004, 14:22
Why are you so small minded as to have poor Gandaff running round in circles trying to resolve this seat business when he is a very busy man or woman. Look I have 10 seats at the back ot the main stand behind where Exile sits - If you are so desperate to have your name on a blinkin seat - have those. Take Laurence off and put your name on - so Gandalf can have a break from all this and get on with the more profitable aspects of the job. The seat business as done its job. And if you want to call me names - be my guest.

meatypete1
22-04-2004, 15:07
im not calling anyone names just saying some people who arent Bury fans dont care how busy Gandalf is they just want to know where their seat is. And we have been told it would be sorted by now.

Im sure Gandalf is very busy and tries his very best, but were not getting at anyone. Can you imagine paying money to someone who dissappeared with your money? You would feel cheated. I dont coz i know where it went but people who arent Bury fans do care.

That is my predicament. I took £10 off work colleagues and they ask me from time to time where there seat is. I feel my honesty is in question if I have no way to prove I spent the money as it was intended. It's like getting a receipt in a shop to prove purchase.

Gandalf
23-04-2004, 07:56
Blimey. Thank you for your concern Laurence but it is something that does need to be sorted. In hindsight I would never have taken the task on in the first place as then none of this, and the associated hassle, would ever have arisen. As with many things it is easy after the event but as we have said that we will do it then we will. I have given the reason why it is not yet complete many, many times and will not bore everyone with them again.
As long as people turn up when I ask then we can get it done very soon into the close season.
If it genuinely an issue with people I would be only too pleased to provide them with a receipt that they can produce for their colleagues but as it will soon be completed in the manner recently highlighted then I suggest that we continue along that course.
As I have said before it is not as if there has been nothing done as there are thousands and thousands of names on the spreadsheet as it is.
