I see Oldham, who played yesterday , like us, are playing Blackburn on Monday and BFC on Tuesday. It could be another under strength side I feel. Hope not .
I think it almost certainly will be. Oldham are keeping all the profits from the Blackburn game so will want as big a crowd as possible. So they will put out their first team in that fixture and give kids a run out against us.
I am concerned that by the time the Swansea game comes around we will not have had 90 minutes against a full strength football league side.
That should be perfect preparation for playing Swansea!

Totally agree Shakers4eva, Playing against Raccy Boro, Eastwood and City & Oldhams kids is crap preperation. The Leigh game was mainly reserves and trialists. I remember when we used to play about 5 or 6 first team friendlies and the same number reserve games. The reserve games were always advertised as such therefore fans werent disappointed when they got there. It hasnt seemed to have happened this year. Lets hope next season we organise a nice little tour like the IOM tournamount or go up Scotland or down South somewhere. A couple of glamour friendlies with full strength opposition wouldnt be bad either. Cast your minds back to the 2 recent promotion campaigns, they were both started by trips to the IOM
Perhaps with the recent signs of financial stability we will be able to afford a pre season tour next year.

I seem to recall that you have to be invited to the IOM tournament. Maybe this trip to Notts is a mini tour for players only. 2 nights at Centreparcs and a behind closed doors with Mansfield on Saturday? Stranger things have happened.
Though Radcliffe are having their annual few days away and have had their game cancelled over there

A tour down to this neck of the woods would be greatly appreciated by this exile at least.
A friendly at Highbury would be perfect - it's just round the corner from me and I'm fed up of seeing gooner shirts everywhere - a few shakers shirts would make it more interesting.
I saw Mark Kearney serving in a bar at Center Parcs afew years ago.
Fascinating !

Since I hope to be going over to Eastwood Town on Thursday would someone mind asking the chairman at the FB meeting if there is any chance we could approach some of the bigger clubs for friendlies before the start of next season.
We should ask Newcastle, Leeds, Liverpool, Everton, Villa, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Blackburn, Rangers, Hearts, Hibs. Even the Stretfords would do if they put out a decent side.
