Does anyone share my fears over the consortium who are apparently backing the club? It seems dodgy that they want to remain annoymous and believes me to think they have something to hide. Am I right in thinking that they are the same consortium that were linked with us in the media previously ie the Lee Sharpe lot? If so I remember one fan (think he was from Exeter) telling us to give them a wide birth. With the lack of info and their actions upto now Im slightly concerned. On the pitch though we seem to be going in the right direction.

Given the abuse that anybody that has ever put time or money into the Shakers has got, I can't blame them for remaining anonymous.
They don't seem to be doing anything wrong at the moment, so lets reserve judgement shall we?
one of the so called changes that the fans wanted to see happen at gigg lane when forever bury was set up and a member elected to the board was a new openness about what was happening behind closed doors.
it is all still cloak and dagger stuff still. the people who kept the club alive by bucket collections around various grounds and all the hard work they put in on many fund-raising activities deserve better!
COME ON BURY OPEN UP TO THE FANS LIKED YOU PROMISED OUR IS THIS THE START OF another FALSE DAWN!

corky,
exactly what openess are you suggesting? If a financial backer, without whose money Bury FC would no longer be in existence, wishes to remain anonymous who are you or any other fan to say otherwise? If you yourself wish to back the club to the tune of several hundred thousand pounds already and then let the fans know everything that is your perogative but first you need the money.
secondly I take it you do attend all the open forums such as the one next Thursday where information that can be divulged will be? you have to remember like all businesses information is not accessible to all. just because you may be a consumer of a given product does in no way give you the right to know everything about the producer - why is it different in football?
99% of the information you need as a fan is out there in the public domain and is on offer at the correct time - may I suggest putting more time listening and using the relevant forums but also accepting that you have no right to all information than constantly going on about conspiracies and cloak and daggers stuff or perhaps thats how you get your kicks.
Well said AndyBarls.
The benefactor wishes to remain anonymous and does not want it made public how much money he has already / will in future commit to the club.
That is his right.
He does not own the club, is not a director, and does not wish to be involved in the running of the club.
For the record, he is not Albert Doweck neither does Albert Doweck own the club. AD has not put money into the club and there has been no takeover. He has merely been invited to join the Board as Chairman so that his skills and experience can be utilsed for the good of Bury FC. There is no 'consortium' involved.
If people took the trouble to attend Forever Bury meetings they might find out a few things, instead of complaining that no-one ever tells them anything. The next meeting is this Thursday and all the club directors will be present to answer questions including Albert.
Hasn't it been previously stated that Mr Doweck has been putting some money into the club?
Hope the FB meeting makes things clear...I'll be at Eastwood.

Well said Andy & rara, just one small issue the next meeting of FEB is this coming Thursday night on the night we play away at Eastwood . Iam assuming its a BuryXI and not the 1st team?
I'll have to go then. Any chance of directions, Gordon? I can get to Eastwood, but I can't get to the ground...

DJAsh,
As rara has said AD has put no money into the club - if it has been reported otherwise it is wrong - this again is where people jump to conclusions ie he has been made Chairman and therefore must have put money in or even worse now owns the club.
He has been brought in for his skills and day to day running of the club because he has the time and is willing to this for nothing ie no payment. This means he has absolutely no power at all other than to suggest things that first need ratification by the real power which still remains with the SOS trust.
For the record Fred and John also have zero power, even with their new titles.
Hope this clears it up
