Was it any good? Please could someone do a match report?
We were ok, City and their very dodgy keeper were not!
We'll have a match report up on Y3K shortly but Whaley, Seddon and in particular Kennedy impressed at various points of the game.

Garner - not troubled too much, made a few very good saves, still a little suspect on kicking though
Barrass - more pleasing that he got another game under his belt, went a bit quiet towards the end, as his fitness told
Kennedy - looked very promising at times, the odd error, but i am sure he will be pleased with his performance.
Woodthorpe - nothing outstanding yet looked solid in the centre, caught out for pace on 1 occasion.
Unsworth - very composed, i like him in the centre, still managed to get forward on occasion.
Whalley - took his goals well, showed some good pace and enthusiasm, surely pushing for a 1st team berth
Connell - why did we never play him in centre of midfield before now, he looks a natural there, and is clearly benefitting from Duxbury's experience
Duxbury - experience, leadership, vision, he really looks like a useful signing
Clegg - has the ability yet can be so disappointing at times. some good touches though
Seddon - in a quiet 1st half, he looked quite lively, and had a good run and shot
O neill - hmmm! too early to say, didn't do much, but give him time
Subs:
Preece - won most in the air, i still would like to think he would be better on the touch line though!
Porter - had a couple of good efforts, much better performance than radcliffe last week i thought
Nugent - played out wide, looked useful there
Joy - don't know a lot about him, looked ok though
Gunby - (i think he was no 14) i thought he did quite well, some nice touches
Leeson - not on for long enough, did nothing wrong
I thought Duxbury was impressive, looking solid throughtout the game and used his experience to control the midfield. He looks just like what we need.
I didn't know who half of the Bury players were - all the new ones that is. Very confusing.
City's goalkeeper was Kevin Ellegard by the way. Kasper Schmeichel didn't come on until near the end. The announcer got it wrong.
What was the attendance, does anyone know? Quite disappointing I thought.
I thought Porter looked quite good, and improved on his performance at Leigh. He was always battling away and is quite good at heading the ball too. He was much better than O'Neill in the first half. I'd like to see him get a whole game in against Oldham.

I was actually slightly disappointed with Duxbury, felt he unnecessarily lost possession a fair bit, but I'm sure he'll be a great signing in the long run. Connell was excellent in midfield. In fact I virtually agree with every 1-0Butler54 says. Joy looked handy, I think he put Porter away when he looked offside, where's he from ?
Duxbury had a good first half, not so good second half. A few of his passes started going astray. Still led the team though, never stopped shouting. Kennedy got skinned a couple of times early on but then settled down and played a good game. Seddon again showed well and Porter looked useful in the second half.
I like Unsworth at centre back, thought he had a great game today. Clegg was again disappointing for me today.
Man of the match was Lee Connell. He looks so much at home in the middle of the park. Good defending, good going forward. Duxbury plays the anchor role giving Connell a lot of freedom and he benefits from it.
The goals gave Simon Whaley a lift today, he visibly lifted his game after his goals. A good confidence booster for him...applauded off when substitued.
Four games, four wins, ten for, none against. Things look good but the first real test of pre-season will be Tuesday night. Bring it on.

In the style of Channel 4 racing, positives and negatives in the parade ring.
Positives
Tom Kennedy looked comfortable, slotted in seamlessly.
Glyn Garner good saves, lots of shouting and more organised.
Gareth Seddon sharp, keen working hard.
Lee Duxbury already assumed captains role, and does it really well.
Midfield in general good hard challenges, won plenty of ball.
Chris Porter growing on me, good touches for a big lad.
Matt Barrass got through another game and played well too.
Simon Whalley Saved best til last. Looked very happy with life.
Negatives
Joe O'Neill Never got going, knocked off the ball almost every time and when he held it up then gave it away with the pass.
Andy Preece why take off Seddon at that stage to give himself half a game. Lumbered around doing not much. Must be 6th choice striker everywhere except in his own head. Even Gordon is higher up the forwards list for a game.
Colin Woodthorpe not at centre half, please.
But all told, more plusses than minusses so far. :)

Is Joy related to the chap who's helped to take over Oldham?
Hmmmmm........can we expect Oldham to be "franchised" and moved elsewhere?

Overall a good performance so far.
Very impressed with Duxbury, what a good player he is turning out to be.
I think we have some promising players coming through, they will get better as they play more together.
Read somewhere the attendance was 1992, but I didn't think there was that many there.

Have to agree about Duxbury - we have been crying out for a player like him for years...great signing, well done Preece
Must just be me who thought Whaley did nothing other than score both goals!
I was dissapointed with his general play, but if he can play poorly and still score twice, he must be doing something right!
Agree with one of the posts above about Duxbury, he seemed to tire quite badly towards the end and struggled to get back into position after going forward. Before that though, he was excellent, won the ball well and distributed it quickly and simply.
Very impressed with Kennedy, thought he did very well and showed some good touches.
Seddon looked a bit quiet, but provided the best moment of the game I thought when he beat two defenders and then had his shot deflected wide.
Barrass looked very assured again, I hope he can stay fit and get a contract, he's just what we need at the back.
Woodthorpe & Unsworth looked pretty solid, but were caught out for pace a couple of times.
Connell played well - nice and simple. Cleggy was anonymous.
O'Neill did nothing and Porter looked much brighter when he came on. Nugent was very quiet, didn't look happy stuck out wide. Preecey - time to hang up the boots!
Wasn't the best game overall, but another clean sheet, another couple of goals and a good run-out for the lads.
Ooops, almost forgot - what I thought was the best performance of the day....
Garner - made some great saves and swept up well behind the defence, seems to have learned when to come off his line a bit better.
