Alan
Thanks for this. All seems too good to be true. Here's hoping it's the start of something good. :D
Slightly suspicious about who has made the cash injection. Hate the secrecy. :?:
Dont think you should read too much into that-They just want to retain confidentiality.Identities may be revealed if they come on to the board.

steve,
all i would say is that without the person(s) backing through the summer we wouldn't be here ! Also trust the directors to make an informed decision as to who puts money in - as said in previous posts we could have been forced into a Luton situation, luckily the directors had time to choose who best to work with.
On a lighter note - I for one would wish to remain anonymous putting money into this or any other club for the abuse etc you get
heres to a firmer footing for the future.
Early indications are that we have a new beginning. As a member of staff at the club this brings new hope and new ambition. As a supporter it brings new hope, but also worry.
We can never be allowed to get into this situation again and the directors must be strong with the money and the handling off.
Now is the time I feel for all supporters to get behind the club and move forward....
Well said Gordon. And we can start by getting behind AP - the best young manager in the Nationwide and just as a big a fan of the club as any of us lot.
A couple of months ago Liz H said "the stadium deal has gone through".
Was there anything further said about that?

Thanks Andy, I'm certainly more optimistic than this time last year. I already have my money on us for the play-offs. I can't wait for the season to start. I've even put my holiday back a few weeks so I can go to Swansea. Lets up the people of Bury and the exiles get behind the club and players now. But that is probably too much to ask.

Good AGM and all sound well.
Alan, thanks for your summary of the AGM. Things are certainly looking better than anyone could ever have hoped for.

The season hasn't started yet, so can't really say yet, but I posted on AD's appointment that I'm sure things will look up. AD I'm sure will insist on football being played. I reckon we'll see the ball on the ground. He will call the tunes and a sensible bloke. As a result, we'll at least finish in the same position as last season, I reckon automatics - honestly I do. If AP reverts to hoof, we'll do nothing - I don't think he will though.
But may I say the comment AP loves BFC as much as us is a pathetic statement  If you were given a season ticket to Man U would you watch them and not us? I hope not, I wouldn't. If Man U offered AP the managers job, would he take it? Course he would. NOT CRITICISING, just a fact. (Ignore it that Man U never play Saturday afternoons so could have a season ticket for them and never miss a game at Gigg, you know what I mean)

I'm a bit worried on reading the Y3K report on the AGM with the nautical references by our new chairman , particularly with phrases like ' steady hand on the tiller'.
An anagram of his name is 'LED BOAT WRECK'.
Let's hope that this is not the case.
Alan,
Thank you very much for taking the time to report back to us all. Very much appreciated.
Things are certainly looking a lot better. However, without wishing to appear negative, can anyone answer one or two questions for me?
1. Messrs Doweck and Barlow were re-elected as directors
Does this mean there are only two directors on the board at Bury FC?
2. If the answer to 1 is yes, then who is representing the interests of the majority shareholder? Do the current board have a mandate to act?
3. It says in an earlier post (not sure which) that AD is looking after the day-to-day affairs at the club (or words to that effect). Sounds to me like this is a job decription for a Chief exectutive - is AD going to be paid for these services?
Please don't mistake this for whinging or being devisive - that's not my intention at all. I just like to know where things stand.

Sara,
1) Jim Lomax is also a director - with Fred and John resigning I understand at this moment their are the 3, but as said in the AGM report more to join shortly.
2)As I understand unless it changed last night there is no SOS representative currently on the board - therefore if anything needs passing the current board have to approach the SOS trust - presumably this will change when the legalities of the new owner occur ie the new owner will install their own representative(s)
3) AD is as you say 'just' another director who is helping with the day to day running which is a huge job - do not know for sure if he is getting paid but I would seriously doubt it - maybe someone else knows the exact details.
