Old timers on the board might want to shed a tear for the passing of an old, trusty and reliable friend.

Though I never actually saw it, it brought much amusement to many

(Oxford - its his car, the one he uses to get from mackemland to all the games, dont worry, he is just a little strange, but dont tell anyone it was me who told you)

How dare you insult the memory of the serene green sturdy yet combative VW Passat with BiG's "Sopwith" metro.

He was very fond of that car and when he traded it in for... ahem... a Nissan Micra, he got quite upset when the guy simply drove it round the corner to scrap it.

The Car-o-Plane got it's nickname when the two Mackems made me late for a Tuesday night match (against Cambride as I recall) and I drove from the Nissan Factory in Washington to Gigg Lane in just one hour forty minutes. When we touched one hundred and twenty on the M62 BiG thought we were about to take off.

Anyone interested in the exploits of the Car-o-Plane can check out the Mad Mackems diaries on Y3K or browse most of my match reports.

For those of a statistically completist nature you may wish to know that I have gone down in the world now and potter to the match in a company Golf.
