Funny the different opinions of those who were there yesterday - there are opposing views on Cooke and Forrest to name but two. I didn't think either of them were particularly bad but there again neither were anything special.
Two players who I haven't seen mentioned - Danny Swailes and Matty Barrass were, (in my opinion), excellent. Swailes got a bit of gyp last season for his poor passing but yesterday he found his man every time. I also thought Preece did well when he came on.
Top man was Duxbury and I think he and Dunfield will team up well together. Whaley and Kennedy both looked promising.
I was disappointed in Porter and the triallist centre back and I thought Seddon could easily have had a hat trick - wasn't it him who missed the free header early on.

I thought Preece made no impact whatsoever on a semi pro defence so i doubt he will feature heavily this uear. Porter did well i thought considering he hasn't had many games and looks a potential asset, but i can see his season not starting and full of little niggling injuries, like last season. Cooke did nothing for me really, he did ok in a few situations but for a man who once cost City £1million he really has little accuracy in his crossing. I cant remember one that went to a Bury players head. They tended to be way overhit or or to deep. Swailes and Barrass didn't stand out greatly and our defence is cause for concern in my opinion. Too many times Boro got clear shots but they didn't take them. A div 3 side will punish our defence. I thought Jones looked poor. I reserve judgement on Gunby and Kennedy because i didn't know who was who until after the and have a poor memory span so i can't remember whether they impressed me. I remember Kennedy making a mistake which led to an opening for Boro. Nice left foot though. Duxbury and Seddon were both massive pluses though. Hopefully Seddon will have the drive to get him 20+ goals this season to compensate for last.
