Adding to the one on one he scored against Wakefield, Newby got his second goal for Huddersfield from a tight angle during their 3-2 win at Halifax.

Their fans are saying "clearly a good finisher"! As he is when somebody else does the work for him.

you would expect him to get at LEAST a couple against the likes of halifax and wakefield. Its hardly got me shaking in my boots when he revisits gigg.

So what if he is now scoring, good luck to him, hes no longer a Bury player. Yes he did a job for use, but that now history, Good Luck Jon hope you continue to score all season apart from when you play use.

Oxford i agree with your points about Newby. I wish Newby well with his future, he was a good servant to the club, but he's no longer a Bury player so why should it matter how many goals he's scoring elsewhere ? Many fans have different opinions of Newby, but he's with another club now so let him get on with it and let us concentrate on the players that are here !

I agree too, just wanted to point out the start hes making considering the criticism he received from some who chose to ignore the excellent things his career has produced so far.

Seems like all the ex Bury players are doing well, Sam Collins captain, Pawel Abbott hitting 3 goals in 2 games!

If the current players play as well, we'll have a very good season!

Please can we not get into a "Newby watch" situation where his every goal and contribution is lifted from the town website and posted on here all season long.

He's nowt to do with us any more. :?

What is important is how a team perform together.

A player can significantly do better in a different team, just as a team can improve when a good player is left out.

The managers job is to identify who he needs in a team.

Also a player can respond differently to a different atmosphere at another club.
